Rachel Blazey Hill | President

Rachel (Blazey) Hill has previously served as an elected Councillor for Willoughby City Council and been involved as a committee member for St Marks Preschool, Northbridge Public School and coached her sons Northbridge Football Club team.

Rachel was an organiser of the Northbridge Games in 2012 to celebrate the Centenary of the naming of Northbridge and partnered with the NPA to deliver the event. Rachel joined as Secretary of the NPA prior to her local election in June 2014. After completing her term she returned back to the committee in 2017 as Vice President. Stepping into the President role in 2020.

Rachel worked in corporate social responsibility for a listed company due to her 13+ years experience working with community groups, charities and not-for-profits. She is most proud of her partnership with the State Library of NSW, in setting up the only humour writing award in Australia in honour of her late godfather – The Russell Prize for Humour Writing… and her children!

Rachel has a Bachelor of Business (Mgt) degree and experience in marketing while her passion is creating community and appreciating the great outdoors.

Gillian McFee | Secretary & Vice President

Gillian has lived in Northbridge with her family for 25 years and is actively involved in the community through golf, sailing and the Northbridge Progress Association. Gillian’s passion is to help drive great placemaking in Northbridge, building on its natural beauty and friendly community.
Gillian’s professional background is in health and human services where she has held CEO/senior executive roles in the public and private sector and in serving on related boards as a non-executive director.

Kristina Dodds | Co-Vice President

Kristina Dodds has displayed a strong and enduring commitment to contributing to community throughout her career in the not for profit sector.

Kristina has held roles in professional training, adult education and community development with statewide organisations such as Motor Neurone Disease NSW, Home Hospice Australia, Cancer Council NSW, and the Cerebral Palsy Alliance.

Kristina is a skillful public speaker and group facilitator, possessing developed understandings of the needs of those impacted by disability, life limiting illness and ageing.

Kristina has lived in Northbridge for over 18 years and is mum to a university and a High School Student.

John Chase |  Treasurer

John has been Treasurer and a committee member since late 2016.

John has lived on the lower North Shore for the majority of his life and been a resident of Northbridge since 1986. John spent the majority of his working life in financial markets and held senior roles at ANZ in non-financial risk management. John is now semi-retired, married to Arpi Chase for nearly forty years, has three children and three grandchildren who all live in the Willoughby district.

John is an active member of the local cycling group (Northbridge Titans), regularly jogs the streets, enjoys bush walking around our beautiful suburb and is a frustrated golfer. John is a volunteer at Orange Sky, passionate about issues impacting the homeless population in Sydney, social equality and contributing to the local community.

Grant Sheldon | Committee Member

Grant has been an active resident of Northbridge since 1986 and as NPA committee member since September 2008. Main interests have been traffic & parking, natural and built environment and heritage.

Grant is married to Sue and together raised their three children, now adults and living elsewhere. They attended St Marks Preschool, Northbridge PS and local public High Schools. With the children’s sports, Grant has been a regular supporter, soccer coach, manager and age coordinator, soccer referee, baseball umpire, cricket scorer, basketball manager and now is often seen exercising an active tan kelpie cross dog a couple of times a day around Northbridge.

Grant continues to be involved with St Marks Church Northbridge and through them is an accredited SRE teacher at Northbridge PS, long time committee member of Northbridge Combined Churches and each November runs “Joy through Toys”; Coordinator of an annual Northbridge Clean-up Australia site; is an accredited Football NSW referee and also volunteer referee liaison officer with Northbridge Football Club.

Grant has Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and Master of Business Administration degrees, was employed for 23 years as an engineer in the State Public Sector and as Consultant for 23 years – the last 20 years continuing in his own small company based in Northbridge.

Heidi Richards | Committee Member

Heidi and her family have lived in Northbridge since 2005, drawn like many are to its peaceful laneways, baths and bushland yet with the city so close by. Her two boys went through Northbridge Primary School.

Heidi grew up near Boston, USA and moved to Australia in 2002.

She has had 30-year career in public service as a financial services regulator in the United Statesand Australia. She has first hand experience of how government needs to balance the diverse interests within the community.

Rudy Guyzen | Committee Member

Rudy and his family have lived in Northbridge for 20 years. Together with Sal he has helped raise three children who all attended local schools and sporting clubs.

Rudy works in IT and Analytics teams helping turn data into actionable insights. Rudy is interested in how we might reimagine a decentralised, human-centric, localised, smarter “new normal”.

Glen Elkington | Committee Member

Glen moved to Northbridge in 2003 with his wife and 4 children.

Glen’s children have grown up and moved away from Northbridge but Glen, his wife Louise and dog (Humphrey) have just relocated to another house in Northbridge.

Glen has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from UNSW and has worked for over 40 years in Major Project Construction and Property Development. Glen has had executive roles in major companies such as Lend Lease, Macquarie Bank and Laing O’Rourke Australia and spent 4 years in Los Angeles as President Lend Lease Development USA West Coast.

Glen has been semi-retired over the last 2 years and has decided to commit some of his time to the NPA to contribute to building a better community.

Deanna Rose | Co-Editor

Deanna has been a committee member and co-editor of The 202 since 2016.

Deanna holds a degree in media and has worked in the field of public relations across the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. She also enjoys teaching ethics classes with students at Northbridge Public School.

Deanna has been a resident of Northbridge since 2014, having moved from the eastern suburbs and never looked back. She is actively engaged in the community, together with her husband Adam and their three children.

Deanna is passionate about the environment and particularly loves exploring Northbridge’s beautiful bushwalks.

Fiona Daunt | Co-Editor

Fiona has been a committee member and co-editor of The 202 with Deanna since 2016.

Fiona completed her education in the UK and holds a degree in English which she put to good use whilst working as an Account Manager in Advertising back in the 1990’s. Fiona emigrated to Australia with her husband Tom in 2003 and they eventually made their way (via other states and cities) to the beautiful suburb of Northbridge in 2011.

Fiona took on the role of Co-Editor as a way of meeting fellow Northbrigdonians and becoming more involved in her local community.

Fiona is Mum to three children and continues to be actively involved in their school communities. In her spare time she also enjoys golf, bushwalking, writing and travel.
