“The community you want starts at your front door”TM
Neighbour Day – aims to:
- Strengthen communities and build better relationships with the people who live around us.
- Create safer, healthier and more vibrant suburbs and towns.
- Promote tolerance, respect and understanding.
- Break down community barriers.
- Protect the elderly, the vulnerable and the disadvantaged.
What started as a warning to check on elderly neighbours has grown into an annual celebration of strong communities and friendly streets.
Relationships Australia became the new home for Neighbour Day on the 1st January 2014. Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of community, bringing together the people next door, across the street or on the next farm for a beer, a barbie or just a cuppa. Held on the last Sunday in March every year, it’s the perfect day to say thanks for being a great neighbour and for being there when I needed you most.
It is never too soon to be neighbourly, or to start being neighbourly.
Northbridge. Proudly promoting Neighbour Day’.
To help keep Northbridge a safe and connected community we are asking residents to come together for a meet up on the day or before at any street event. You may already be having one such as a Christmas street party, Australia day BBQ, birthday party, or end of season sports day.
